About
Michelle Buonincontri, CDFA®, CFP®
Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™
Having been through my own tumultuous divorce I understand the stress, the fear and the cost. My ex-spouse and I were rational and fair people, but the current divorce process does not setup couples and their families for success.
This is why I founded Being Mindful In Divorce, obtained my Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, CDFA® designation became trained as a Collaborative Divorce professional and Mediator, served as a leader in Second Saturday Divorce Worskhops and as a Financial Coach at Fresh Start Women’s Foundation in Phoenix. I want help ensure families do not have that emotional and financial experience.
Growing up on Long Island, in an Italian household living in my grand-parent’s home resulted in a connection to family and community that runs deep. My grandfather taught me about money using what he called the “envelope system” and this formed my initial interest and foundation for money management. It was this discipline and philosophy of the importance of cash management that enabled me to pay for a 30k wedding at age 19 and purchase my first home at age 21.

Where Do I Start?
It can be so confusing, you don’t know the short or long term impacts on the money coming in or what your long range financial picture will look like.
The current divorce process is adversarial and not constructed to support families in a healthy way, and I want to be part of an affordable process that changes that experience for families. Providing analysis, options, negotiation advice and first hand empathy for what you are experiencing -uncertainty can turn to clarity and peace of mind, reducing stress for you both.
Whether in mediation, working with an attorney or just as a financial neutral, we want to support you in finding a workable solution to your divorce that puts control in your hands, reduces cost and supports you in creating the next phase of your life.
Divorce is an opportunity to create a course of action that:
- Supports our life vision
- Increases confidence
- Makes us the architects of our lives, not victims
